Brian Kenneth “Bubba” Chappell, age 48, a lifelong resident of Dinwiddie County, VA, passed away September 20, 2021.He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Willie E. and Rachel H. Chappell, and Walter E. and Rubie T. Turner.
Bubba graduated from Dinwiddie High School in 1991. He proudly worked on the family farm alongside his father, brother, son, nephew, and niece. He was a 6th generation farmer. He actively participated in the Boy Scouts for many years, serving as Den Leader for Cub Scout Pack 185 and Committee Chair for Troop 185. Bubba loved working in his shop and enjoyed the challenge of repairing anything broken. He was a talented mechanic and fabricator to the extent he trademarked his creations “Bubba Built.”
He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth (Brown) Chappell; his children, Neal Alan Chappell and Kendall Mae Chappell; his parents, Earl and Jan Chappell; his brother, William Chappell and wife, Lori; a nephew, Matthew Chappell and wife, Jessica; a niece, Katie Chappell; special friends, the Morini family, as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Smyrna Baptist Church with Pastor Robert L. Rowland, III officiating. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 1, 2021 also at Smyrna Baptist Church. The funeral service will be livestreamed on the Smyrna Baptist Church Facebook page.
