Cathy Mayton Watson

Cathy Mayton Watson, 65, a life-long resident of Brunswick County, passed away Monday, May 27, 2019 in her Lawrenceville, Virginia home. Cathy was born on November 18, 1953 to Arthur & Lottie Mayton, also of Lawrenceville. Cathy was the heart and soul of her family and of her community. From her years at Peebles Department Stores, managing the company’s flagship location in downtown Lawrenceville, to her work in the bookstore and cashier’s office at Southside Virginia Community College, she thrived when she was surrounded by people. She is survived by her husband, Topper Watson, children Rob Watson of Clifton, New Jersey and Jennifer Watson of Emporia and her grandson Jayden Watson, also of Emporia. Visitation is planned for Wednesday, May 29, 2019 from 6-8 pm at Williams Funeral Home. Cathy wanted to be cremated and no graveside service is planned.
