Charles Edward Arthur, Jr.

Charles Edward “Chuck” Arthur, Jr., age 65, a lifelong resident of Dinwiddie County, VA, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 18, 2023.

Chuck was preceded in death by his father, Charles Edward Arthur, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Terry Clay Arthur; daughters, Jamie Lynne Arthur Warf (Kenny) and Abbey Arthur Buhrman (Chris); a granddaughter, Aubrey Ann Buhrman; his mother, Frances Reeves Arthur; a sister, Donna Arthur Barwick (Mike); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Chuck was an avid outdoorsman and a member of Old Hickory Hunt Club. Alongside his father, he was a charter member of Dinwiddie Volunteer Fire Department and Dinwiddie Rescue Squad. He had a lifelong passion for farming and was employed by B.T. Hargrave for many years. He was also a lifelong member of Lebanon United Methodist Church. Chuck will be remembered as a loving husband, father, son, and friend to many, but his greatest accomplishment was being “Grandpa” to Aubrey.

Chuck’s family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Chippenham Medical Center for the care and compassion shown during his illness.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2023 at Lebanon United Methodist Church, 12450 Courthouse Road, Dinwiddie, VA 23841. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday also at the church. Interment will follow at Rowanta Methodist Church Cemetery, Carson, VA.
