Christine Hawkins Vaughan

Christine Hawkins Vaughan, 91, formerly of Dolphin, Virginia, passed away in New Bern, North Carolina on Wednesday, November 21.2018. Born on November 14, 1927 of Charlie and Gertrude Hawkins, Christine lived 85 years in her beloved community in Virginia, but due to aging concerns, moved to North Carolina to be cared for by her daughters and their husbands. While in North Carolina, she attended Trinity Episcopal Church in Chocowinity and St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church in New Bern. In addition to her parents, Christine is predeceased by her husband, Francis Anderson Vaughan, son, William Harrison “Billy” Vaughan and sister, Dorothy Hawkins Dixon. Surviving her are her children, Charles E. Vaughan (Bettie) of Lawrenceville, Virginia; daughters, Gray Albritton (Billy) of Chocowinity and Fran Laskovics (Buck) of New Bern. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Services will be held at Liberty Church, 3381 Planters Rd., Lawrenceville, Virginia, Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 12:00 noon. The family will receive friends Thursday from 11:00 to 12:00, one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Lawrenceville.
