Craig Stroud, age 44, of Matoaca, VA, passed away Friday, February 4, 2022.He is survived by his wife, Becky Patton Stroud; his daughter, Madelyne Ketchum and husband, Kyle; his parents, Donald and Yvonne Stroud; a brother, Michael Stroud and wife, Colleen; a sister, Michelle Johnson and husband, Chad; nieces, Tinley Johnson, Rylee Stroud, and Alayna Johnson, as well as a large extended family and countless friends. Craig, otherwise known as 47 or Huckleberry, was a “Matoaca Boy” but always called LaGrange, NC home. Craig's world revolved around his wife and daughter. Family was everything to him and he let that be known in all that he did. Craig did not know a stranger and made friends everywhere he went. If Craig knew you, you could certainly believe that you meant something to him. He never forgot a face and was always just a phone call away. Craig had a true gift for making people laugh and could always be found cracking a joke or telling a story in a way only he could. He was incredibly proud of his involvement with the fire station and regarded every firefighter as a brother or sister. We take comfort in knowing that he is reunited with so many that he loved and is in the presence of Jesus. We will be missing him until we are all reunited someday.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Kingsland Baptist Church, 8801 Perrymont Rd, Richmond, VA 23237. The family will greet friends at the church following the service.
