Cynthia Anne Blaha, age 63, a lifelong resident of Dinwiddie County, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 16, 2023 surrounded by her family.
Cindy was a graduate of Virginia Tech and served Dinwiddie County as an agriculture teacher and FFA Advisor for over 30 years. She also served Virginia FFA on the State level in a number of different capacities. In her career she touched the lives of thousands of students and interacted with many of them far beyond their time in her classroom. She was instrumental in the formation of Southern Outcast, a youth fishing team in Dinwiddie. Cindy was passionate about the agricultural industry. She believed in supporting local businesses and organizations and was incredibly community oriented.
Beyond all of these, her most cherished role and favorite job was being a “Nini” to Camden, Cadence, and Cael. She spent most of her free time attending their events and activities and was a fixture in their daily lives.
Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Blaha. She is survived by her daughters, Laurel Alexander Bishop (Carl) and Ashleigh Lynne Andusko (Matt); grandchildren, Camden, Cadence, and Cael; her mother, Nina A. Blaha; a brother, Eric Blaha (Debbie); nieces, Sindy White and Amanda Tudor.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 20, 2023 at White Oak Manor, 15320 Boydton Plank Road, Dinwiddie, VA 23841. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Central Baptist Church, 6405 Courthouse Road, Church Road, VA 23833.
