Daisy Ellen Newcomb Temple

Daisy Ellen Newcomb Temple, age 81, of Lawrenceville, VA, widow of Edwin Dale Temple, departed this life Sunday, February 6, 2022.She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Hillary Lacole Harrell; father, Arthur Mack Newcomb; mother, Mammie Ray Newcomb; sisters, Louise Irby, Lucille Newcomb, and Helen Hankins; brother, Arthur Junior Newcomb and wife, Linda. She is survived by two daughters, Gail Rhodes and Muriel Denise Walton and husband, Lonnie Walton all of Lawrenceville, VA; a son, Rev. Edwin Dale Temple, Jr. and wife, Gail Temple, of Orange, VA; six grandchildren, Scottie R. Champion and wife, Olivia, of Dolphin, VA, Dewayne A. Scott of Lawrenceville, VA, Tammy Champion of Nebraska, Karrin Cordova and husband Alfonso of Verona, VA, Kimberly Temple of Orange, VA and Matthew Temple of Orange, VA; nine great grandchildren, Preston Deckeroff of Dolphin, VA, Dewayne A. Scott, Jr. of Lawrenceville, VA, Slivina Champion of Dolphin, VA, Alma Campbell of Nebraska, Cheve Champion of Dolphin, Albert Campbell of Nebraska, Alfonso Cordova of Verona, Jesaiah Hickman of Orange, and Rachael Cordova of Verona; a sister, Becky Wilmouth of Drakes Branch, VA; two brothers, Herbert Newcomb and wife, Mary, of Richmond, VA and Garland Newcomb and wife, Patricia of Woodbridge, VA, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Daisy was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worked for Dixie Wine Co. of Richmond, Phillip Morris of Richmond and later owned and operated Southside General Store in Lawrenceville, VA with her husband Dale. Daisy was a member of the Lioness Club and a member of the Lawrenceville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing board games, cards, bingo, dancing, and spending time with her family and friends. We are all so blessed to have had her in our lives. She will be greatly missed so much. We love you. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Williams Funeral Home & Crematory of Lawrenceville followed by interment at Crestview Memorial Park, La Crosse, VA.
