Deborah Harrison Gibson, age 70, of Dolphin, VA, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024.
A lifelong resident of Dolphin, VA, she was the daughter of the late Edward Oliver Harrison and Fannie Belle Woodruff Harrison. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Douglas Edward Harrison.
Affectionately known as “Yah Yah,” Mrs. Gibson was known as a people person who loved to cook, crochet, diamond dots, and was a huge NASCAR fan. She always had a smile on her face and could light up any room. She was very festive and had an outfit for every holiday. She was an excellent dancer, avid gardener, and a devoted member of the Dolphin Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She will be remembered most as a devoted wife, mother and Yah Yah who had a special love for her great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Tony Gibson; a daughter, Shannon Simmons (Matt); a son, Jason Gibson; a granddaughter, Jessica Sadler (Nick); great-grandchildren, Berkleigh Sadler and Briar Sadler; a sister, Patricia Phillips; sister-in-law, Judy Harrison, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and a special family friend, Harley Vaughan.
A celebration of life will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, August 24, 2024 at La Crosse Volunteer Fire Department, 202 Carolina Street, La Crosse, VA 23950.
