Dorothy Bennett Fallin

Dorothy Bennett Fallin, age 97, a resident of Sutherland, VA, passed away Thursday, June 10, 2021 at her home. Born in Reidsville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Scott and Marion Beatrice Stanfield Bennett. She was also preceded in death by her husband Louis Lee Fallin, Sr., her son, Louis Lee Fallin, Jr., and her three siblings. Mrs. Fallin was a longtime member and Deacon at Central Baptist Church, Church Road, VA. Affectionately known as Mema to many, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and trips to the beach; but will be remembered most as a devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by her daughters, Elaine Fallin Lewis and Mary Scott Henshaw; very special granddaughter, Christina Perkinson (Bennie), as well as grandchildren, Lynn Tavenner, Catherine Tapp (William), Kevin Henshaw (Meredith), Terri Preciado (Cordell), Charles Lewis (Kendel), and Sara Fallin, 18 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Mema also opened her heart to caregivers Felicia Bateman, Marie Clanton, and Amy Bennett and associates, for which her family is extremely grateful. A graveside funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday, June 14, 2021 at Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery, 4814 Courthouse Road, Church Road, VA 23833.
