Edward Earl Edmonds (72) of Lawrenceville VA, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at VCU/CMH Hospital in South Hill, VA on Friday, February 23, 2024.
Edward Earl was born March 29, 1951 in Lawrenceville, VA to the late Joseph & Gertrude Edmonds.
Edward Earl is preceded in death by his brother Ronnie Edmonds. He is survived by his wife, Linda and his fluffy fur-ball “Maggie May”, siblings J.B., Jr (Sandra), Peggy Cale (Blake), Diane Edmonds (Ronnie), his children Kevin Edmonds (Amy) of South Hill, Karen Lusk (Josh) of Jonesborough TN, Rusty Edmonds of South Hill, Drew Edmonds (Brigette) of Chesterfield, & Matthew Seamans (Valerie) of El Paso TX, stepsons, Michael Miller & Jason Mottram. His Grandchildren; Ethan Edmonds, Keenan Edmonds, Camden Lusk, Owen Edmonds & Arley Edmonds, and a host of wonderful nieces and nephews.
Known throughout the lands by his many aliases, whether he was known to you as Daddy, Pa, Triple E, Ed, Mooney, Squirrel, EE Sarge or Edward Earl…there was a story to tell. He enjoyed his family, making a point to stop in or call, he loved to sit and talk, especially in the shop with lifelong friend Mike Yeattes. No matter where he went there was always someone he knew. Living in Lawrenceville most of his life, he was active as a Boy Scout leader, ball coach, and sports fan to his children and grandchildren. Ed retired from Virginia Department of Corrections after 30+ years. Keeping busy in his later years, he enjoyed bus driving for Brunswick Academy frequently talking about his kids on the bus. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The Family will receive friends on Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 2-4pm @ Williams Funeral Home in Lawrenceville Va. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent in honor to: Cops & Kids FOP Lodge 51, PO Box 274 South Hill, VA 23970.
