Edward Irving Wright

Edward Irving Wright “Sawdust”, age 80, of Brodnax, VA passed away July 17, 2023.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Irving and Sallie Wright; two brothers, Frank M. Wright, Sr. and Shelton Wright; and his sisters, Ruth Wall, Joyce Edwards and Carolyn Clary.  He is survived by his love, Vanessa Mullins; his children, Loretta Bottoms and husband Scotty, Atlas Wright and wife Tonya and Ryan McGuire and wife Shakora; his grandchildren, Grayson Bottoms, Stormey Berryman and husband Cary, Danielle Townsend and husband Bailey, Shawn Evans and wife Esther, Kaycee Evans and husband Ronnie, and Rihanna, Shania, Skylar and Micah McGuire; his great grandchildren, Kaydence, Kimber, Kinleigh, Maycie, Rhett, Raelynn, Noah and Naomi; his sister, Sarah Wright; his brother, James Carlton Wright; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Edward is also survived by special family friends, David, Michelle, Brycen and Blake Vick; his long-time hunting buddy, Cave Man; and his beloved dog JB.

Edward worked for Brodnax Lumber for over 30 years until he retired.  He had a passion for hunting and was a founding member of the Old Store Hunt Club.  He lived his life his way and lived it to the fullest and was definitely one of a kind.

A graveside service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, July 20, 2023, at the Wright Family Cemetery, 1249 Gasburg Rd., Brodnax, VA 23920.  The family will receive friends after the service at the home of David and Michelle Vick.
