Eva Terry Vaughan, 99, passed away Nov. 4 with peace and grace surrounded by her loving daughters. She was born on Sept. 11, 1925 in Guerrant- Highland Kentucky, the daughter of the late Daniel Boone and Edna Terry. Eva attended Montreat College during WWII, where she studied music and home economics. After the war, she taught music classes and private piano lessons. Gospel hymns were her favorite and she enjoyed playing them throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years, James Ira Vaughan. Survivors include her daughter, Sandra V. Durham and husband, Michael of Lawrenceville; daughter Diane V. Herubin and husband, Gary of Emporia; daughter and loving caregiver LaDonna T. Vaughan of Lawrenceville. Survived by grandchildren, John James Herubin and wife Alease; Ryan Clint Herubin and wife Taylor; and Bryndan Paige Durham and partner Steve. Also great grandchildren, Wyatt John Herubin; Owen Garrison Herubin; Claire Alease Herubin; William Clint Herubin; and Luke David Herubin.
A private family celebration of Eva’s life will be held at her gravesite, Antioch Community Church, Lunenburg County, Va.
