Everette L. "Leroy" Gibson, Sr.

Everette L. “Leroy” Gibson, Sr., former Staff Sergeant in the USAF, age 88, of Dolphin, VA passed away peacefully at his home on October 8, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, John J. Gibson and Beulah B. Gibson and his brothers, Charles H. Gibson and John W. Gibson. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Lavenia “Bena” B. Gibson; his children, Susan Lucy (Heath), Donna Robertson (Bobby), and Everette Gibson (Lynn); his four grandchildren, Stormi Maurer (Garland), Will Lucy (Kelly), Zachery Gibson and Sydney Robertson; two great grandchildren, Nolan Maurer and Mackenzie Lucy; his sisters, Dorothy G. Crane, Mattie G. Lewis and Edna Mae Whitby; and his brother, Ronnie Gibson. His love for airplanes and farming was known by all. Visitation will be held at the family home, Tuesday, October 10, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Williams Funeral Home, Lawrenceville with interment at the Gibson Family Cemetery on Twin Rd, Dolphin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dolphin Volunteer Fire Department, P.O.
