Francis Earl Abernathy

Francis Earl Abernathy, age 83, of Dolphin, VA passed away May 25, 2019. He is the son of the late Charles Hubert and Jane Fleshood Abernathy. He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Catherine Weller Abernathy; his sisters, Estelle Murray, Edith House, Rachel Pearson and Susie Jones; and his brothers, Harry, Heartwell, Alwyn and Cloud Abernathy. He is survived by his children, Kathryn A. Whitlow and husband Michael, Jacqueline A. Waldron, Francis-James H. “Abbie” Abernathy and wife Sarah, John-Scott H. Abernathy and wife Cheryl and Zane-Merle Abernathy; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday, May 31, 2019, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home, Lawrenceville. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Williams Funeral Home with interment at Liberty Church Cemetery, Dolphin, VA.
