Gavin Lane Frye

Gavin Lane Frye, 18, of Chester, Virginia, formerly of Dinwiddie County, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 8, 2021. Gavin was born on May 28, 2002, in Petersburg, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Francis Frye. He will be forever missed by his father, Elvis Frye; mother, Lani Richardson and step-father, Greg Richardson; brothers, Preston and Rylan Frye; and bonus siblings, Nicholas and Landis Richardson; grandparents, Robert and Celia Childers, Uncle and godfather William Sparrow, Uncle Robert “BJ” Childers, Jr., Aunt Meghan (Corey) Lake; Aunt Mary Pace (James); Uncle William “Billy” Frye; Aunt and godmother Tiffany Millis, Aunt Amber “Bambi” (Brian) Cox; and many more aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that meant the world to him. Gavin enjoyed life to the fullest and loved everyone he ever met and never knew a stranger. He lit up every room he ever walked into and made the world brighter just by being in it. As much as he was always the center of attention, he made everyone feel as if they were the most important person in the world. His laugh was infectious, and his cool guy smirk would melt your heart. He was both of his brothers’ keepers and the best friend anyone could ever ask for. He loved spending time with his family whether it was having their favorite movie nights together or playing board games, as long as they were all together, he was happy. He loved family, he loved friends, he loved life, but most of all he loved Jesus. He loved the Lord with his whole heart and would tell anyone and everyone whether they wanted to hear it or not. He had a passion to spread the gospel and a gift of loving everyone in an amazing way. He has touched so many lives and his love will live on in our hearts forever. Gavin’s family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Monday, February 15, 2021 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 3110 Greenwood Avenue, Colonial Heights, VA 23834.
