George Wildie Kellam, Jr.

Kellam, George Wildie, Jr., of Henrico County, died December 11, 2020 at the age of 96. He is survived by his son George W. Kellam III; many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his loving wife Alice Smith Kellam, and his sister Elizabeth K. Turner of Cheriton, Virginia. He was born at Craddockville, Accomack County, Virginia to the son of the late George W. and Bertie H. Kellam. He graduated from Central High School in Accomack County and Goldey Business College in Willimgton Delaware. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II from April 1943 until March 1946. His service included locations in the United States, New Guinea, the Philippines, and Japan. He became a Virginia State Police Trooper in 1951. He retired in 1985 after 34 years of service with the rank of Captain. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 17, 2021 at Oakwood Cemetery in Lawrenceville, VA. Memorial contributions may be made to the Skipwith United Methodist Church, 2211 Skipwith Road, P.O. Box 32104, Henrico VA 23294.
