Gladys Jean Malone

Gladys Jean Malone passed away peacefully on November 4, 2023 at Pine View Assisted Living Facility in South Hill Virginia.  Jean was preceded in death by her husband, William McAden Malone; two sisters, Mary Lorene Taylor and Alice Mae Endres; and two grandsons, Matt Edwards and Colt Malone.  She is survived by her brother Robert Trowbridge (Betty); two sister in-laws, Mary Nash and Shirley Hayes. Jean is survived by three children, William (Bill) Malone (Joanne), Edward Malone (Danna) and Lita Thomas (Robert).  In addition, she is survived by 7 grandsons, 13 great granddaughters, and 11 great grandsons.  Jean was active in her church and community, and she met and made many friends while she sold AVON for approximately 50 years.  She was a stand-in- manager and recruiter; her license plate was AVON-A1 and later changed to AVON-B1.  She will be missed for her generosity and kindness; Jean was a cherished friend.

Her family would like to thank the staff and residents of Pine View for their friendship, care and kindness. In addition, many thanks to all of the caregivers that looked after her prior to going to Pine View.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Williams Funeral Home & Crematory in Lawrenceville, VA. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
