Herbert Edward Taylor

Herbert Edward Taylor, age 84, of Lawrenceville, VA, passed away Friday, April 9, 2021. Born in Freeman, he was the son of the late James Edward and Elna Ann King Taylor. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Elsie Elizabeth Duke. Mr. Taylor retired after 20 years of honorable service in the U.S. Air Force, including service in Vietnam. Following his military career, he worked for the Virginia Department of Corrections, retiring after 20 years of service. He then worked as a truck driver for McAden Dairy for several years. He was a member of Greentown Hunt Club and Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patricia Ann Taylor; son, Anthony Wayne Taylor and wife Donna; daughter, Kathy Lynn Mabe and husband, Terry; grandchildren, Anthony Wayne Taylor, Jr. ( Christy), Daniel Thomas Taylor (Alli Ingenito), Katelynn Ann Taylor, Courtney Marie Lynch (Zack), Taylor J. Browder (Laura), Joshua Browder (Courtney), and Noah Mabe, three great-grandsons; a sister, Lillian Deloria Jones; brother-in-law, David Duke, several nieces and nephews, many extended family and friends. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Williams Funeral Home, Lawrenceville, VA. Interment with military honors will follow at Reedy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Freeman, VA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
