The old school brothers and sisters of the Colonial Heights Fire / EMS community are saddened, Matt stayed in touch with many of us regularly after resigning his position. . He struggles were real and we know he is now at peace, A true at heart fire service brother who was loved and will be so missed. Rest easy on the other side Brother!
My heart is broken..We love you so much.I know you are not hurting anymore .You joined the rest of the family in heaven and the angels welcomed you home..Until we meet again I will keep you in my heart .I love you Matt.
To a friend partner on calls to classes to seeing you at the beach and to just talking the night you passed its still don't seem real. To a great father friend mentor of others hold things down till we meet again.
Matt my brother, I am going to miss our late night chats. I was always welcomed at you house as you were mine. You wisdom and humor touched many hearts. Rest easy my brother.

Mark and Pat, Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you and your grandchildren during this difficult time. We pray you will find peace and comfort through our Lord Jesus Christ. Please reach out to us if you need anything. Love in Christ!
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Brother Matt. All of us Firefighters have a bond that is strong as we all realize the dangers and the horrors we witness on a daily basis. But also the rewards of being there to help and sometimes save lives and property. Matt always gave it his all, and his brothers and sisters knew they could count on him. I have been gone from the VB Fire for a long time but still always heard my brothers speak highly of Master Firefighter Matt Mauger. May The Great Spirit Bless You Brother on your new journey and may your friends and family know you always gave your best.
See You On The Other Side,

No words will ever be enough to express my deepest sympathies. I wish I could be there to personally share my love for you both and share in your grief. I am praying for peace and comfort during this unthinkable time. Know that our savior Jesus Christ has Matt in his loving care now. Sending my love and hugs. Jolene & Michael
