Dale Wilson Moseley

Dale Wilson Moseley, age 67, a lifelong resident of Lawrenceville, VA, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2021. He was the son of the late Clyde Wilson and Lila Bernice Shearin Moseley. Dale worked as a mail carrier from 1986 to 2014. He was a kind man with an infectious laugh. He loved people and enjoyed spending time with others. An avid NASCAR fan, Dale loved Fords, country music, and animals. He is survived by his sister, Betty Moseley Cook; step-daughters, Crystal Layne and Tammy Lucy; his best friend, Gary Klasen; an aunt, Sarah Shearin, many cousins, and a special friend, Judy Doyle. The family will receive friends at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Williams Funeral Home in Lawrenceville followed by a 4:00 p.m. graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery. Patricia Anne Beale Lynch

Patricia Anne Beale Lynch, age 82, of Ebony, VA, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, April 23, 2021. A native of Branchville, VA, she was the daughter of the late Lawson Derby and Jessie Elizabeth Edwards Beale. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Lawson Derby Beale, Jr., a sister, Shirley Jean Robertson, and a son-in-law, Phillip W. Cosenza. A longtime member of Prospect United Methodist Church, Mrs. Lynch was a member and Past President of Ebony Homemakers Club, and an election poll worker for many years. She will be remembered most as a devoted wife and mother, and a caregiver to many in her community over the years. Mrs. Lynch is survived by her husband of 62 years, James P. Lynch; daughters, Vanessa L. Godwin and husband, Bryan, and Paula L. Cosenza; grandchildren, Patrick and Adam Godwin, and Anthony Cosenza; brothers, Franklin Beale and wife, Linda, Melvin Beale and wife, Ann, and Gerald “Durwood” Beale; several nieces and nephews, including a devoted nephew, Henry “Hank” Robertson. The family is especially grateful to their friends and neighbors who helped care for Mrs. Lynch during her illness. A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Prospect United Methodist Church followed by interment in the church cemetery. Kirstie Amanda Rauch

Kirstie Amanda Rauch, age 44, a lifelong resident of Dinwiddie, VA, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021. She was a 1994 graduate of Dinwiddie County High School and a graduate of John Tyler Community College with a degree in Early Childhood Development. Kirstie lived a very active life. She participated in and taught dance her entire life and held a black belt in karate. Her work included Deborah School of Dance, Fort Lee Dance & Karate, several area daycare centers, and Joann Fabrics. She also loved sewing and crafts. Kirstie will be remembered most as a loving and caring person who cherished time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Michael John Rauch; a son, Aiden Leslie Rauch; her parents, Leslie and Deborah Ryan; a sister, Hollie Casey and husband, Nathan; two nieces, Madilyn and Alison Casey, as well as her “dance family” who she loved dearly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2021 at St. Johns Catholic Church in Dinwiddie. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Charles "Chuck" Victor Omick

Charles “Chuck” Victor Omick, 75, of Lawrenceville, Va., departed this life on April 4, 2020. He is survived by his wife, Felicia; son, Charlie; and son, daughter-in-law, and grandson Joey, Lara, and Charlie; his brothers-in-law James Vergara (Gayle), Joe Vergara (Cindy), George Vergara (Dianne) and Kevin Vergara and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Frank and Shirley Omick. Born on September 10, 1944 in Flint, Michigan, he moved to Lawrenceville, Virginia in 1991 where he resided until his death. Chuck attended the University of Michigan in Flint and Hurley Medical Center where he received his degree in Nurse Anesthesia. He proudly served his country as a Captain in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division and was the head nurse in the Emergency Triage at the 12th Evac Hospital, Cu Chi, Vietnam. After being honorably discharged, he moved to Richmond, Virginia and worked as nurse anesthetist at St. Mary’s Hospital and Retreat Hospital. He also taught nurse anesthesia at VCU/MCV. In 1990, he began his long tenure at Greensville Memorial Hospital in Emporia (Bon Secours - Southern Virginia Medical Center) until he retired in 2017 due to illness. Chuck was dearly loved by his family and everyone he met. He was kind, thoughtful, and always had a smile on his face. He truly cared about people and always made them feel important. He loved to have a good time and always made everyone around him have fun. He even made going to the grocery store an adventure. He was the life of the party. Chuck was an avid Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings Hockey fan. He loved watching his sons play sports while growing up. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and cooking. He made sure that both sons knew how to cook and the three would cook together whenever they had the chance. His favorite thing to do was to spend time with his family just hanging out. Family and God were the two most important things in his life. He loved to travel to Italy and his 2 favorite places were the Piazza della Signoria and the Basilica of Santa Croce, both in Florence. He loved listening and singing along to all types of music. His favorite tenor was Andrea Bocelli. In 2019, Chuck, along with his wife, was able to realize his dream to see Bocelli in concert in Lajatico, Italy. Chuck was a member of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Richmond, Virginia. A visitation will be held at 6:00pm on Thursday, April 29th at Williams Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Virginia. A Funeral Mass celebrating his life will be held at 12 noon on Friday, April 30th at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 823 Cathedral Place, Richmond, Va. Marshall Wade “Peter” Gauldin, age 77, of Warfield, VA, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 13, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Lee and Lillian Epperson Gauldin; and his siblings, Harold and Donald Gauldin, and Marian Williams. Marshall was a retired employee of DuPont and had a passion for woodworking. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Nancy Joyner Gauldin; children, Christopher Wade Gauldin (Douglas James), Alissa Nashwinter (Bill), and Beverly Brown (Matt); grandchildren, Emily Powers (Matt), Mary Lowe (Daniel), Taylor Nashwinter, and Libby Nashwinter; great-granddaughters, Katherine Powers and Evelyn Lowe. Herbert Edward Taylor

Herbert Edward Taylor, age 84, of Lawrenceville, VA, passed away Friday, April 9, 2021. Born in Freeman, he was the son of the late James Edward and Elna Ann King Taylor. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Elsie Elizabeth Duke. Mr. Taylor retired after 20 years of honorable service in the U.S. Air Force, including service in Vietnam. Following his military career, he worked for the Virginia Department of Corrections, retiring after 20 years of service. He then worked as a truck driver for McAden Dairy for several years. He was a member of Greentown Hunt Club and Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patricia Ann Taylor; son, Anthony Wayne Taylor and wife Donna; daughter, Kathy Lynn Mabe and husband, Terry; grandchildren, Anthony Wayne Taylor, Jr. ( Christy), Daniel Thomas Taylor (Alli Ingenito), Katelynn Ann Taylor, Courtney Marie Lynch (Zack), Taylor J. Browder (Laura), Joshua Browder (Courtney), and Noah Mabe, three great-grandsons; a sister, Lillian Deloria Jones; brother-in-law, David Duke, several nieces and nephews, many extended family and friends. Barbara Jean Wortham Baird, age 61, of Alberta, VA, passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 4, 2021. She was preceded in death by her father, Lacy James Wortham and her husband, Keith Baird. Gloria Jean Malone Anderton

Gloria Jean Malone Anderton, 78, of Lawrenceville, VA, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond. She was predeceased by her parents, Paul C. and Edith Moore Malone. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Clifton F. Anderton, Jr.; numerous cousins, among them, Barbara C. Lee, Dale M. Cannon, Teresa M. Carpenter, Nicole C. Clary, and Christina C. Daniels; Goddaughter, Haylee N. Clary, as well as many friends. Gloria Jean, along with her husband, owned and operated Paul Malone’s Store for many years until their retirement. She also retired from the Department of Corrections. She was a longtime member of Edgerton United Methodist Church where she was active with the United Methodist Women.
