James Kenneth "Joe" Ballard

James Kenneth “Joe” Ballard, age 78, of Chesterfield County, VA, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, H. Lee Ballard and Luella Reynolds Ballard; his brothers, William Ed Ballard, Richard Phillip Ballard, and Charles Lee Ballard.  

Joe’s entire career was dedicated to educating young people. He retired as an Administrator for Chesterfield County Public Schools.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty Estes Ballard; his children, Amanda Ballard Ray (Mark) and K. Brent Ballard (Mallory); grandchildren, Elizabeth Ballard Ray, McKenna Faye Ballard, and Lucy Hansen Ballard; his sister, Janice Ballard Cutler (Rick); and his beloved dog, Daisy.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Crestview Memorial Park, La Crosse, VA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Hope Baptist Church, 6030 Woodpecker Road, Chesterfield, VA 23838.
