James E. Calhoun, Jr.

James E. Calhoun, Jr., age 74, of Yale, Va passed away February 19, 2023 at home with his family.  He was a loving husband and father.  James was a U. S. Army Veteran and served in the Vietnam War.  He was a patriotic, hardworking, selfless man. He loved animals and rescued many.  He is survived by his wife, Roxanna Calhoun; his children, Jimmy Calhoun and wife Kim, Jay E. Calhoun, Melanie Mellon and husband Andrew, Tiffany Pierce and husband Kevin, Michelle Moore and husband Tyler, and Justin Calhoun and wife Hayley; his grandchildren, Tiffany Weatherman, Kristin and Jay Calhoun, Jason Hankinson, Jr., Andrew Mellon, Jr. and Aiden Mellon, Kaeden and Kynzlee Moore, Declan and Riley Pierce, and Wyatt and Zoey Calhoun; his great grandson, Abel Calhoun; and his sister, Brenda Paschall and husband Doug. He is preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Caudle. A funeral service with military honors will be conducted, 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Williams Funeral Home, Lawrenceville.  The family will receive friends Saturday, prior to the service from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home.  The family will gather after the service at the Triplet Volunteer Fire Department, 3548 Triplet Road, Lawrenceville, VA 23868.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Coastal Animal Referral Emergency, www.care199.com, 5295 John Tyler Hwy., Williamsburg, VA 23185.
