James Guy Britt, Sr.

James Guy Britt Sr., age 84, of Alberta, Va. departed this life on January 3rd, 2019. He founded Britt Trucking Co. in 1961. He is survived by his loving friend, Rosemarie Roberts of McKenney; his sons, Donald Britt, and wife Judy of Alberta and James G. Britt Jr. of Alberta and his daughter Ceretha D. Byrd of Chesterfield, formally of Alberta. Mr. Britt is also survived by two grandsons, Ryan W. Britt and wife Lindsay of Alberta and Adam S. Britt and wife Amber of Alberta; his two granddaughters Jessica A. Britt of Alberta and Chelsea L. Britt of Alberta; and three great-granddaughters, Tatum, Presley and Emmerson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Sadie Clarke Britt; his step mother, Edna H. Britt; three brothers, Dunford, I.L., and Gerald Wayne Britt; and his sister, Mary Gill Radford. James was a lifelong member of Trinity St. Mark's church. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Williams Funeral Home, Lawrenceville. A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday at Bethel Church Cemetery, Alberta, VA.
