Jane Thomas Riegel

Mrs. Jane Thomas Roberts Riegel went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 7, 2020. Jane was born January 5, 1937 to the late Price McGuire Thomas and Ruth Rebecca Harris Bryant. Jane was preceded in death by her husbands, Alvin “Hambone” Roberts and Franklin S. “Egg” Riegel, her daughter Becky Tuma and her sister Helen Moore. Jane was a retiree of the Brunswick County Department of Social Services and a loyal member of Edgerton United Methodist Church. Jane is survived by her children, Cheri Parnell (Dennis), Conway Inge (David), Malcolm Lucy (Melissa), Chris Lucy and Alvin Glenn Roberts, step-daughter Mary Caldwell. Jane is also survived by her great-grandson, Christopher Lucy who resided at the home. Jane is survived by her brother, Price McGuire Thomas, Jr. (Gale), 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Jane’s caregivers and special friends include Betty Coleman, Ben Caldwell and Carol Baird. Jane’s memorial celebration will be held at Edgerton United Methodist church on Saturday, September 26, 2020, visitation will be from 1 to 2pm, service at 2pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests for contributions to be made to Edgerton United Methodist Church c/o of Steve Browder, 366 Belfield Road, Lawrenceville VA 23868 or to Saint Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
