Jean Wright McCarter

Jean Wright McCarter, age 77, of Valentines, VA passed away January 8, 2020. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Elwood McCarter, III; and niece, Madisen Wright and sister in law, Peggy McCarter Johnson. Jean is survived by her sisters, Lucille Wright of Norridge, Illinois, and Patricia Teske of Maple Grove, Minnesota; her brother Robert Wright and his wife Sandra of Tampa, Florida; her nieces Jamey and Lindsay Wright, Erin McCarter Wright (Stuart), Maureen Frank (Philip), Emily DeVries (Chaise), and Cindy, Laurie and Kelly Zolad; her brother in law, Mark Johnson; as well as many cousins, other relatives and friends. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Canaan Church Cemetery, Brodnax, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Hill Christian Church, P.O. Box 550, Gasburg, VA 23857 or Central Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 386, Gasburg, VA 23857. Williams Funeral Home, Lawrenceville will be handling the arrangements.
