Jerry Vaiden Wright

Jerry Vaiden Wright, age 83, of Brodnax, VA passed away August 3, 2024. He is the son of the late Everage and Elizabeth Wright. Jerry lived a long-fulfilled life. He was a lifetime member of James Square Baptist Church. He loved “Pepsi-Cola”, hunting, gardening and watching any “Ball game” EXCEPT for when the Yankees played. He loved to share his garden crops with family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with his “chaps” and “grand chaps”. Jerry is survived by his wife of 65 years, Frances Erlene Wright; his daughter, Tammy Thorpe and husband Terry; his son Danny Wright and wife Lisa; his grandchildren, Ashley and Kristen Thorpe and Casie and Vaiden Wright; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Lawrence and Leslie Wright. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at James Square Baptist Church with Pastor Donnie Edmonds officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. In memory of Jerry, memorial contributions may be made to the James Square Baptist Church Love Fund, c/o Lisa Wright, 1037 Ankum Rd., Gasburg, VA 23857. Williams Funeral Home, Lawrenceville will be handling the arrangements.
