Joyce Inez Echols Loftis

Joyce Inez Echols Loftis, age 90, a resident of N. Dinwiddie, VA, passed away at her home on Wednesday, August 18, 2021.Born in Ford, VA, she was the daughter of the late Bernard Washington and Bernice Meredith Echols. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Lee Loftis, and a son, Billy Lee Loftis. Joyce worked at Allied Chemical in her early years, and then spent several years working in the snack bar at Battlefield Park Swim Club. She was a longtime member of Living Stone Baptist Church and enjoyed the love of her church family. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and an excellent cook. She is survived by her son, John Wayne Loftis, Sr. (fiancé Beverly); grandchildren, John Wayne Loftis, Jr. (Kelsey) and Nina Nicole Loftis; great-grandchildren, Andrew and Luke Loftis; nieces, Cathy H. Bishop, Cindy Hatzisavvas, and Patricia A. Hill. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 23, 2021, at Living Stone Baptist Church with Pastor Tom Crowder officiating. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Living Stone Baptist Church, 5732 Boydton Plank Road, N. Dinwiddie, VA 23803.
