Patricia Anne Beale Lynch, age 82, of Ebony, VA, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, April 23, 2021. A native of Branchville, VA, she was the daughter of the late Lawson Derby and Jessie Elizabeth Edwards Beale. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Lawson Derby Beale, Jr., a sister, Shirley Jean Robertson, and a son-in-law, Phillip W. Cosenza. A longtime member of Prospect United Methodist Church, Mrs. Lynch was a member and Past President of Ebony Homemakers Club, and an election poll worker for many years. She will be remembered most as a devoted wife and mother, and a caregiver to many in her community over the years. Mrs. Lynch is survived by her husband of 62 years, James P. Lynch; daughters, Vanessa L. Godwin and husband, Bryan, and Paula L. Cosenza; grandchildren, Patrick and Adam Godwin, and Anthony Cosenza; brothers, Franklin Beale and wife, Linda, Melvin Beale and wife, Ann, and Gerald “Durwood” Beale; several nieces and nephews, including a devoted nephew, Henry “Hank” Robertson. The family is especially grateful to their friends and neighbors who helped care for Mrs. Lynch during her illness. A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Prospect United Methodist Church followed by interment in the church cemetery.
