Ronald Wayne Catron

Ronald Wayne Catron, age 81, of Dinwiddie, VA, passed away Monday, April 10, 2023. Born in Coburn, VA, he was the son of the late Chalmer John Catron and Mildred Wills Catron. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Patricia Sue Riblett Catron, a grandson, Jeremy Reid Mayberry; three of his siblings, Dennis Catron, Roger Catron, and Barbara Catron; and an aunt, Edna Wills.

Mr. Catron was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from Bell Atlantic in 1994, after more than 30 years of service. He then established Catron Communications, a contracting business which he operated for several years. He was an avid sports fan and followed all Dinwiddie Generals sports.

He is survived by his children, Tammy Shank (Todd), Tracey L. Yeager, Sheila C. Mayberry (Sam), and Ronald W. Catron, Jr.; grandchildren, Joshua Shank, Trisha Shank, David Suits, Chris Suits, Nicholas Suits, Patrick Mayberry, Seth Mayberry, Matthew W. Catron, Elizabeth Arcenia, Ava N. Catron, Sydney Catron, and Reagan Catron; great-grandchildren, Chloe Suits, Logan Layla, Kate Halloway, Mackayla Allietta, Ava N. Catron, Alivia Catron, Morgan Arcenia, Mila Arcenia, Miles Arcenia, and Miller Arcenia; his siblings, Judy Beverly, Gale Wimmer, John Catron, Debbie Deel, Janet Zarea, and Lisa Catron, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2023 at Western Heights Baptist Church, 24416 Cox Road, N. Dinwiddie, VA 23803. A funeral service will be conducted at the church 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, followed by entombment at Southlawn Memorial Park.
