Vita Leone Ingargiola, age 73, of Prince George, VA, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and local business owner, died November 19, 2021.Vita was born in Carini, Sicily and as a little girl migrated to the United States with her family in search of a better life. Settling in Brooklyn, NY, Vita grew up and became a licensed cosmetologist and worked as a hairdresser for several years. At 19 years old, she met the love of her life, Nino, and would spend the next 50 years married to him. They moved to Virginia in 1974, eventually settling in the tri-cities area, where they established their family business, Rosa’s Pizza. They enjoyed much success over the years and the business continues today under the leadership of their son, Johnny. Vita was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Nino Ingargiola; her parents, Salvatore and Rosa Leone; a brother, Philip Leone. She is survived by her children, Francine Volo and husband, Joe, Johnny Ingargiola and wife, Giusy, Rosa Ingargiola, and Jennifer Ingargiola and wife, Ashley; her grandchildren, Salvatore, Antonio, Rosa, Alessia, Ilenia, Giulia, Antonino, Thomas, Nicholas, Nikolai and Dawson; siblings, Salvatore Leone (Rosalia), Josie Russo (the late Chris), Rosalia Gambino (Antonino), Mimma Leone (Aggie Cavender), and Anthony Leone (Debbie); numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Church of the Sacred Heart, 9300 Community Lane, S. Prince George, VA 23805. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 5:00 p.m. Entombment will take place at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
