Wesley Eugene Harrison

Wesley Eugene “Gene” Harrison, age 97, of Woodland, NC, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2024.

 Born and raised in Dolphin, VA, he was the son of the late Robert Wesley and Ruby Browder Harrison. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Beaulah Lynch Harrison; a stepdaughter, Mary Jane Edmonds; his siblings, Effie Gertrude Harrison, E. Randolph Harrison, Edward O. Harrison, Ruby Alexander Crutchfield, and Shirley Ann Davis; a nephew, Douglas Edward Harrison; and a niece Deborah Harrison Gibson.

 Gene was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Lawrenceville Brick and Tile after many years. He was a dedicated Atlanta Braves baseball fan and an avid gardener. 

 Gene is survived by his wife of 32 years, Marie Harrison; stepsons, Stacey Askew, Charles Askew (Dee); grandchildren, Melinda Sue Askew, Mallory Askew and Mason Askew; a great-grandson, Koda James Hastings, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 4, 2024 at Oakwood Cemetery in Lawrenceville, VA.
