Wesley Nicholson Whitby

Wesley Nicholson “Skinny” Whitby, age 75, a lifelong resident of Brunswick County, VA, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024.

Skinny will be remembered as a kind, hardworking man. He faithfully visited nursing homes to visit with the patients, even those he did not know. He was a lifelong member of James Square Baptist Church and dearly loved his church family.

Mr. Whitby was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Agnes Whitby; and two grandchildren, Rosalina Camacho and Troy Smith, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Whitby; his daughters, Belinda McCall (Douglas), Carol Trejo (Lupe), Michelle Salazar (Rene`); grandchildren, Jennifer, Robert, Jessica, Willie, Jose, Victor, Chris, and Amber, 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles Whitby (Lana) and Leslie Whitby; his mother-in-law, Joyce Rose, numerous nieces and nephews, and his little dog Pep Pep.  

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2024 at James Square Baptist Church, 9440 Christanna Highway, Lawrenceville, VA 23868, followed interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m.
