Sending my deepest sympathies to the family. I spent much of my childhood at Nottoway. I learned to swim at the pool
At Nottoway with some of the Harrison clan. Many great memories of time spent with a wonderful family.
We have loss such a wonderful man. He was always kind and giving to anyone he ever met. Thirty years ago when I met him thru his eldest son David he warmly and openly welcomed me into his home and then a few years after that when David and I married he made sure that I knew and felt I was family. Even after David and I were divorced he and Marjorie made sure that I felt always welcomed in their home and was still loved by them both. David and I had 2 sets of identical twin boys Albert, Austin, Josh and Jared and I watched as they grew up how proud of them and his true love as a Grandfather he gave to each of them. He was a loved and respected man. And since we all learn to live our own lives by the example we saw, I know my boys will have some big shoes to fill.
My heart goes out to family and friends of Corling, Jr. He and Bill were my first bosses as a teenager. My sisters and I all 3 waited tables at Nottoway when we weren't working on the farm. I have lots of fond memories of my time at Nottoway and being with the Harrison family. Big hugs to all of you!
Gonna miss that great big smile and laugh. He brought many of those to other folks.A friend that will be missed.
I am going to miss my old friend LC. I can easily say that he never met a stranger and was a people person. He always made me feel as if I was at my own home when I visited with him and the restaurant. I remember the days when he would bring Ben and I lunch or dinner while we were fishing. It was always a tasty treat from the restaurant or something he had cooked up at the hunting club himself. LC brightened up any social event that he attended. I understand why he was nicknamed "Flywheel" by his hard work ethic and personality. He was always a pleasure to be around. He will be missed by many and never forgotten.
My deepest sympathy to Mr Harrison's entire family. I'm so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you.
