Marilyn Hudson Brammer, age 71, of Dolphin, VA passed away surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer June 27, 2017. She is the daughter of the late James and Claudia Hudson. She is survived by her loving husband, James D. Brammer; her sisters, Mildred Locke and Marie Coleman; her sister-in-law, Barbara Hudson; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Marilyn had retired from Brunswick County where she was the Director of Human Resources and Finance for 31 years. She was known for her dedication to Relay for Life where she was awarded the Ethelyn Cross Award and served as Team Captain and Honorary Chairman. Marilyn was thankful and cherished her loving husband Jim that was always by her side; her best friend Carolyn Myrick for going above and beyond during her illness; Roger and Tanya Brammer; Josh Brammer and his fiancée Angela Walker; Dr. Johnny Hyde of St. Mary’s Hospital; Crater Community Hospice; Sheriff Brian Roberts and the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Department; and for all that gave their love and time during her illness. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday at Williams Funeral Home, Lawrenceville with interment at Crestview Memorial Park, La Crosse, VA. The family will receive friends Thursday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dolphin Volunteer Fire Department, P.O.
