Wilson Earl Townsend, Sr.

Wilson Earl Townsend, Sr., age 66, of Dundas, VA, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021. He was a lifelong resident of Brunswick County and the son of the late Jefferson Earl and Nellie Mae Foster Townsend.
A self-employed truck driver for many years, Wilson will be remembered as a hard-working, honest man. He loved to hunt and fish, work in the garden, and trips to the mountains, but most of all, he loved his family dearly. He is survived by his wife, Linda Lafoon Townsend; children, Wilson Earl Townsend, Jr. (Susan), Shannon Sheree Painter, Wesley Cheyenne Townsend (Wanda), Brandy Townsend Lewis (Vince), and Steven Justin Bradley; grandchildren, Triston Williamson, Kasey Walker (Ashton Smith), Bailey Townsend (Danielle), Wesley Walker, II (Kristen), Courtney Townsend (Rusty Gordon), Taylor Walker (Hunter Wells), Tanner Campbell, Destiney Hensley (Ryan), Katie Lewis, Seth Townsend, Hayden Puryear, Mason Campbell, Mallory Townsend, and Rebecca Lewis; great-grandchildren, Autumn Stoneburger, Kinsley Walker, Noah Townsend, Maverick Walker and Beau Hensley; siblings, June Townsend, Judy Rainey, and Paul Townsend. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Williams Funeral Home & Crematory in Lawrenceville, VA, followed by interment at Crestview Memorial Park, LaCrosse, VA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Parks Conservation Association, 777 6th Street, NW, Suite 700, Washington, DC 20001.     My thoughts and prayers are with all of Wilson Earl's family and friends. So very sorry.
    I grew up in Rawlings and was fortunate enough to know his Mom, his Dad and his sisters, wonderful hard working people, full of fun.
    Rest in peace, you earned your wings my friend.
    I am sure Wilson Earl will be missed by many, many people.
