Edna Gibson Riegel Whitby

Edna Gibson Riegel Whitby, age 85, of Lawrenceville, VA, passed away at her home on Saturday, February 26, 2022.
A lifelong resident of Brunswick County, she was the daughter of the late John Jefferson Gibson and Beulah Mae Browder Gibson. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Bun Riegel, a son, Jeff Riegel, and a grandson, Coty Mills. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Wilson Whitby; her children, William Darrell Riegel (Andrea), Denise Moore (Thurman), Renee Mills (Ricky); daughter-in-law, Aimie Butler; grandchildren, Kristin Andrade (Matt), Brianne Hostutler (Andrew), Andy Riegel (fiancé Bethany Thames), Hannah Riegel (friend Nik), Damon Cash, Jami Elliott (Jamie), Shane Moore, Shasta Ayala (Josue), Kacee Mullins (Jesse), Savannah Mills (significant other Buddah), Bryan King (April), Collette Yeatts (Jeremy), Angela Grennan (Terry), and Susannah Butler; great-grandchildren, Emma, Ethan, Olivia, Hayden, Hadley, Cadence, Kyndal, Taylin, Adalyn, Taylor, Gabe, Ruby, Emerson, Logan, Brody, Hunter, Mia, Ethan, Carson, and Jacob; sister, Mattie Lewis; brother, Ronnie Gibson; special friends, Andy and Dana. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Williams Funeral Home & Crematory of Lawrenceville, VA. The family will receive friends before the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brunswick County Cancer Association, P.O. Box 522, Lawrenceville, VA 23868.     What a wonderful little lady Grandma Riegel was from the first time I met her . Our thoughts , prayers and love for all of her children , grandchildren, greatgrand children and all the rest that knew her and loved her just like we do . Fly high Grandma Riegel, you might be tiny but your wings are mighty . We will always love you , until we meet again . Love always Judy and Tootsie .

    Earth has lost a GREAT woman, who loves all she met and helped all who were in need. Heaven gained a Beautiful Angel. My memories are many but stories of ruffled panties and cowboy pistols are my favorite. She will be greatly missed.

    What a blessing Ms Edna always was to people. She always had good things to say.. To Denise and Renee, and the rest of the family I pray you have and cherish all those good memories of her...she really was a good person....but thanks to Jesus we have a great day to look forward to..
