Robert Scott Pennell
Robert Scott Pennell, age 55, of Brodnax, VA, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022.
Born at Fort Eustis, VA, he was the son of the late James Monroe Pennell and Hazel Willingham Pennell. He was also preceded in death by four of his siblings, Rodney Pennell, Randy Pennell, Paul Teal, and Betty Daugherty. Scott had endless knowledge when it came to cars and motorcycles, and he could fix just about anything. He was a talented auto body mechanic and the owner of Southside Collision in South Hill, VA. He will be remembered as a hard-working man, compassionate and easy going, but most of all as a loving husband, father, Papa, and friend to many. Scott is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sandra Yonker Pennell; a son, Christopher Scott Pennell (Alexandra); a granddaughter, Maelynn Pennell; stepdaughter, Jessica Hawkins; special nieces, Catherine Pennell Davis and Hattie Pennell Richards (Dontrell). He was special Papa to Kaelee, Nick, Alanah, J’niya, Camina, Finnian, Jasmine, Brooklynn, and Donovan. Scott is also survived by three sisters, Brenda Caswell (Bill), Kathy Porcelli (Pete), and Peggy Graves (Jerry). A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Williams Funeral Home & Crematory of Lawrenceville, VA, followed by interment at Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brunswick County Cancer Association, P.O. Box 522, Lawrenceville, VA 23868 or the Mecklenburg County Cancer Association, P.O. Box 311, Chase City, VA 23924. Condolences may be expressed at www.williamsfuneralhomeva.com.

    I knew Scott when I needed help at Southside Collision. He was caring and compassionate at a time when I was confused and a bit shocked by my experience. He was kind enough to drive me home as my car was not driveable. I really appreciated him. am sorry to hear of his passing at such a young age. Sympathies to the family and friends of Scott.

    Scott I wish I could have told you this before it was to late. But you was more than just my stepdad, you was my dad, and you were my hero when I needed.
